Denver Public Schools' literacy program provides all K–12 students access to rigorous, standards-based reading and writing curricula. Our curricula reflects the collective learning of many education professionals in our district and incorporates educational research and known best practices. We have outlined our literacy program goals in a Literacy Position Paper (PDF).
This Web site provides support and resources for teachers, facilitators, administrators, parents, and students on our literacy programs, instructional practices and reading and writing strategies, literacy assessments, and professional development opportunities.
To read is to empower;
To empower is to write;
To write is to influence;
To influence is to change;
To change is to live.
