Denver Public Schools has embarked on a three-year journey with the goal of providing high-quality professional development and a rigorous and rich social studies curriculum to every K–5 classroom teacher by 2010. This Web site provides many useful tools and updated information, including an overview of big ideas, curricular units, and lesson plans currently in use. Our goal is to empower students to successfully participate in our democratic society. It is our vision to nurture the development of a caring, involved, and informed citizenry.
