Lorenza Lara

Lorenza LaraMy teaching career began in 1993 in Denver Public Schools, where I taught reading and writing, science, social studies, and ESOL in elementary and secondary ELL classrooms.  I currently work as a secondary literacy coordinator, where I develop curriculum and provide professional development to secondary literacy teachers.

I have also provided professional development for teachers in Denver, Baltimore, and Los Angeles in the areas of literacy, language acquisition, best practices, and accommodations for second language learners. I have had the opportunity to work with professionals in the field of English language acquisition and literacy best practices.  I have provided professional development at national conferences, including Chicago and Colorado.  My interests have always been in English language development, reading and writing, and how to better serve students who are struggling to learn.

My sincere hope is that together you and I can help make our students' educational experiences as positive and productive as possible.
