Debbie Milner

As a literacy specialist with the Title I Elementary Program, I provided ongoing staff development for many years in effective reading and writing instruction for struggling readers. I worked with teachers in conjunction with Success in Early Reading (SER), the Collaborative Literacy Project, Reading in Middle Schools (RIMS), and Ruby Payne’s Framework for Understanding Poverty. As a central literacy coordinator, I support specialists, literacy coaches, and teachers in implementing the district literacy program.  I also work with the central literacy team and specialists to develop literacy tools and resources that provide a foundation for literacy instruction.
