2009–2010 School Year Information
- The DPS Science Fair will be held January 23, 2010, so our sixth through twelfth grade winners can compete in the Denver Metro Science Fair, which will be held February 24–25, 2010. Winners from grades 6 through 12 from the Denver metropolitan area then qualify to attend the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair held in Fort Collins, April 8–10, 2010. Seventh through twelfth grade winners at the state level are then qualified to move to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
- All students/teams, kindergarten–grade 12, can enter their schools' Science Fair.
- All students/teams, grades 6–12, can enter the Denver Metro Science Fair on their own.
- Each school can send one class, team, or individual representative for K–3. K–3 entries will not be judged, rather awarded participation certificates. The school representatives will showcase their science projects and receive judges' feedback, but will not be part of the judged science competition.
- For judging, each school can send one class, team, or individual representative from each grade 4–5 (two total).
- For judging, each school can send three team or individual representatives from each grade 6–12.
- For example, a K–8 school can send one (class, team, or individual) representing kindergarten through grade 3, one from each grade 4–5, three (team or individual representatives) from each grade 6–8, for a total of 12 representatives from that school.
- Schools must submit the names of class, team, or individual representatives using the School Registration Form (see the Documents page) to enter the district science fair.
