District events in each of the four arts areas are presented annually. Some of the annual events include vocal and instrumental concerts (K–12); art exhibits (K–12); a day of dance instruction (eight selected secondary schools); and a month-long dance program (K–8). The Citywide Marching Band, after-school arts programs for middle schools, Summer Arts Camp for grades 1–4, and partnerships with community arts organizations—especially Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) Tier III organizations—provide additional opportunities to participate in arts activities.
