Action Plans

Professional school counselors use action plans to organize services to students.

Guidance Curriculum are activities or lessons that all students use around counseling standards. These activities or lessons are driven by the School Counseling Planning and Pacing guide.

Intentional Guidance, or Closing the Gap, curriculum are designed to meet demonstrated needs of subgroups of the student population.  School counselors analyze achievement, behavior, and attendance data at their schools to ensure that all students are succeeding.

When certain students are found to need of support, school counselors implement Intentional Guidance activities for those students in need.

Both Guidance Curriculum and Intentional Guidance activities are measured to determine the impact on student achievement, behavior, and attendance.

Professional school counselors use the templates to the right to design lessons and/or activities for students.
