Career development activities by professional school counselors at the elementary, middle, and high school levels help students make meaningful career choices as adults. School counselors provide guidance on career development activities that link the educational process to career success.
Individual Career and Academic Plans (MyCAPs) are part of The Denver Plan. Starting in eighth grade and continuing to 12th grade, schools incorporate the use of electronic ICAPs for each student as a counseling and guidance tool. The districtwide tools for this process include College in Colorado/CHOICES Planner/Explorer, Naviance, and counselor-led lessons.
