Lisa Mahannah

As the elementary mathematics coordinator, I look forward to the opportunity to support teachers and students in making Denver Public Schools the urban school district that leads the way in mathematics teaching and learning. I am passionate about making high-quality math accessible to every student, including our students in urban schools.

Most recently, I was the mathematics/science facilitator at Schenck Elementary School, where I supported teachers in mathematics and led the mathematics component of the Response to Intervention (RtI) process. Previously, I was the mathematics coach at Sabin Elementary School. I taught fifth graders at Castro Elementary School for four years. During that time, I was one of the elementary model teachers for the Southwest Area’s Learning Labs.

In 2004, I received the Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics Elementary Mathematics Teacher of the Year for Region 1.
