During my seven-year tenure at Denver Public Schools, I have been the district’s program evaluator (2000–2003), the AVID tutor coordinator, and conducted research for the assistant superintendent. Since 2003, I have been the manager of Supplemental Educational Services under the auspices of No Child Left Behind and am concurrently the AVID co-director, a position I share with Barb Nash, Ph.D.
Prior to my employment with Denver Public Schools, I was a high school math teacher and an adjunct faculty member at Arapahoe Community College and Metropolitan State College. At Metro, I taught math methods classes to prospective elementary and secondary teachers, taught pure and applied math, and worked on a girls’ grant in conjunction with Denver Public Schools.
I am married and have a 27-year-old daughter. I enjoy tennis, swimming, biking, and traveling. I recently completed in my first sprint triathlon and am training so I may compete in more in the future.
