Becky SauerI have 21 years of experience teaching mathematics to students from sixth grade through college level. For the past 17 years, I have taught in Denver at South High School and Rishel Middle School. In 2004, I earned the National Board Teacher Certification in Mathematics for Adolescence and Young Adulthood.
A district leader in reform mathematics, I have presented professional development in Connected Mathematics Program, Discovering Geometry, Discovering Advanced Algebra, and IMP and was a math coach at Merrill Middle School. In 2004, I received the Colorado Council of Teachers in Mathematics Outstanding Mathematics Teacher Award.
A graduate of St. Olaf College in Minnesota, I majored in mathematics and earned a master’s degree in mathematics education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
As a secondary mathematics coordinator, I look forward to supporting Denver’s secondary teachers in providing a rich mathematical experience for all students.
